I've never really paid much attention to dandelions before, other than trying to tell the time with them as a child, but they really are quite fascinationg when you look up close. I've a couple of these shots to post over the net few days.

Fantastic macro with awesome details. truly amazing shot. :o) John
Padraig: Thankyou John glad you like it.
It is a superb macro. Likey
I hope you didn't sneeze and spread the dastardly seeds all round your garden!
Padraig: Thank you Ellie, its worse than that, they're all over the house!
Masterful shot, so much detail. I love this.
Padraig: Thanks, I'm never totally happy with anything I come up with, but I was really pleased with this one.
oh my matey just before i hit the sack i view this, and what a superb image that is Padraig me likey, stunning shot
Padraig: Many thanks Tim, the hardest part was getting them home intact.
I agree, a cracking example
Padraig: Cheers Nigel, I love the way they manage to stay on, it looks impossible.
I'm not a specialist of macro shots, but this this one looks nice
Padraig: thank you Pawel
how cool is this! absolutely wonderful. love all the monochrome tones and the dof
Padraig: Thanks Karima, Im glad you like it.
This is beautiful! A fantastic subject for B & W. The bright of the dandelion against the black background makes the textures stand out nicely. I like the narrow depth of field, too. Did you create any more with larger DOF to compare?
Padraig: Thanks Rob, Yes I tried a few variations both smaller aperture and larger, but this seemed to be the most pleasing, with a shallower DOF there just didn't seem to be enough in focus and with a smaller aperture it just seemed to lose its apeal.
